Full high-cycle replacement (both)$280–$420

Why we replace both springs at once

If one torsion spring has failed after 10,000 cycles, the other spring has been through the same 10,000 cycles. A second service call to replace it costs nearly as much as the first. Replacing both at once is the right call and we explain why before we start.

The case for high-cycle springs

Builder-grade springs on new Columbus homes are standard 10,000-cycle units. A door used four times per day exhausts those springs in 7 years. High-cycle springs rated for 25,000 cycles cost $40–$80 more per spring and last more than twice as long. On a door with heavy use, the upgrade pays for itself quickly.

"We replaced springs on a Hilliard home last winter where standard springs had been installed twice before. Same failure, same cycle count, same situation. We put high-cycle springs on it this time. At their usage pattern those springs should last 15–20 years. The cost difference was $60. That's the conversation we have on every spring job."

Spring cost FAQs

Why does spring size affect the price?

Springs are engineered to the door's weight. A heavy insulated double-car door needs a heavier wire gauge spring than a lightweight single-car door. Heavier springs cost more in materials.

Is there an extra charge for evenings?

No. Emergency and after-hours calls are priced the same as regular service.

How long does replacement take?

45 minutes to an hour for a standard double-car door. Full cycle test and balance check before we leave.

Do you carry springs on the truck?

Yes. We carry springs sized for the most common Columbus-area residential doors. Most replacements are done same-visit, no wait on parts.
