Learn more →How we work
Most of the calls we get are from people who either tried to fix it themselves, or had someone out who quoted a number and then found reasons to add to it. We don't work that way. You get a written price before we pick up a tool.
A lot of what we see in Columbus is deferred maintenance — a spring that's been squeaking for a year, a cable that's fraying at the drum, an opener that works most of the time but skips every few cycles. Those are all warning signs that end up as emergency calls at 9pm. If we catch them on a scheduled visit, you save money and don't lose a night to it.
"We get a lot of calls in January and February — people who came home and the door just wouldn't go back down. Nine times out of ten it's the springs. Cold weather tightens everything up and a spring that was borderline in October doesn't survive the first real cold snap. We see it every year, mostly in Hilliard and the west side subdivisions where the homes were all built around the same time and the original springs are all aging out together."

How it works
Tell us what's happening — the door won't open, it's making noise, it came off the track. We'll ask a few questions and get you scheduled, often same day.
We arrive at your Columbus-area home, look at the door and hardware, and tell you exactly what's wrong and what it will cost to fix. No upselling, no pressure.
Once you approve the quote, we do the work. Most repairs — springs, cables, openers, rollers — are completed in one visit. We carry the parts most Columbus homes need.
After the repair, we run the door through its full cycle, check the balance, test the safety reversal, and make sure everything is operating correctly before we close the job.
About us
Most of the homes in Columbus and the surrounding suburbs were built in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. That means the original garage door hardware — the springs, cables, and openers — is aging out on a predictable schedule. Torsion springs on a door that goes up and down twice a day are rated for roughly 10,000 cycles. Do the math on a door that's been running for 15 years, and the spring is overdue.
We've serviced doors in just about every Columbus suburb — the newer construction in Lewis Center and Delaware County, the established neighborhoods in Upper Arlington and Bexley, the subdivisions in Hilliard and Reynoldsburg where half the neighborhood is calling us the same winter. We know what the common failure patterns are and we stock accordingly.
"We had a call from a woman in Westerville last February — she'd backed her car out and the door just stopped mid-way. Wouldn't go up, wouldn't go down. She had to leave for work at 6am and the garage was wide open. Spring had snapped during the night — you could see the break right at the winding cone. We were there within the hour and had her door operating normally before she left. That's the kind of call we take seriously."

After years of running calls across Franklin County, the failure patterns are pretty consistent. Springs go in the winter. Cables snap when a spring fails and the load transfers wrong. Openers develop logic board issues around year twelve or thirteen. Rollers crack and fall out of track when they dry out.
The most common emergency call we get is a spring failure — typically a homeowner who goes out in the morning and the door won't open. The spring breaks at night, usually during a cold snap, and the opener can't lift the door without it. It's a loud pop when it goes; a lot of homeowners hear it from inside the house and don't know what it was until the next morning.
"On a Dublin call last spring, we found both torsion springs had failed — one had gone recently and one had gone some time before that. The homeowner had been using the door manually for a month, thinking the opener had failed. The opener was fine. Replacing both springs got the door operating normally in about 45 minutes."

Common questions
Columbus and all surrounding suburbs — Dublin, Westerville, Hilliard, Grove City, Gahanna, Reynoldsburg, Upper Arlington, and Lewis Center. If you're in Franklin County or just outside it, call us. We can usually get there same day.
Yes. For most repairs — broken springs, cable failures, opener issues, doors off track — same-day scheduling is available. We take emergency calls nights and weekends as well, no extra charge.
Spring replacement is typically $150 to $350. Cable repair runs $100 to $200. Opener repair or replacement is $150 to $400. New door installation starts around $800. You get a written quote before any work starts — no surprises on the invoice.
No. Don't force a garage door open manually when a torsion spring has failed — they're under several hundred pounds of tension and the remaining hardware is under abnormal load. Leave the door in place and call us. Spring replacement is typically same day.
Most opener problems are repairable. Circuit board failures, gear strip issues, and remote problems are all common repairs. If the opener is past fifteen years or the motor has failed, replacement is usually more cost-effective. We'll tell you honestly which situation you're in.
Yes. We service commercial overhead doors and roll-up warehouse doors across the Columbus area. Commercial scheduling and pricing available — call us to discuss your property and timeline.
